….found some ways to ease them. When I can’t pull ANY calls out of the mish-mash, I’ll start asking for only calls from “7” or whatever number only has a few contacts in the log to that point on that activation. Get through them. Then go down to another if applicable. Then call for QRP. Then P2P’s.
That thins out the crowd a bit and some impatient hunters leave and come back leaving even a bit more space. Face it, we aren’t a DX-pedition, the ONLY one most hunters are looking for, they will spin off to others and come back.
Then if it’s still too unruly I ask “Please spread them out” and take the tail-gators to show them I’m not going after the first Call letter I hear.
